2017 MK Registrations

Registrations forms are now available for your school to register their netball teams for the 2017 MK winter season.  Your school has already been emailed these forms.  If you require extra copies, please click here.

We encourage the School Contact Information Form to be handed in at the MK AGM and Delegates Meeting on Wednesday 15 March 2017, but recognise some schools may not be able to to provide all the details by then, so registration information is required to be completed and returned to the Secretary by the following dates:

All registration information is required to be completed and returned to the Secretary by Friday 7 April 2017:

  • 15 March 2017 - School Contact Information Form (at the MK Netball AGM and Delegates Meeting at 7:00pm in the EBIS Library)
  • 7 April 2017 - School Team Summary Registration Form
  • 7 April 2017 - School Team Registration Form
  • 7 April 2017 - Player Registration Form
  • 7 April 2017 - Team Coach and Manager Registration Form

 

2017 Compulsory Delegate Meeting Dates

Delegates must attend all compulsory delegate meetings called by the Management Committee. 

The scheduled dates to meet in 2017 are:-

  • Wednesday 15 March 2017 at 7pm (AGM) and 8pm (Delegates Meeting) in the EBIS Library
  • Thursday 15 June 2017 at 7:30pm in the EBIS Library
  • Thursday 24 August 2017 at 7:30pm in the EBIS Library

If the Delegate or Coordinator from your school is unable to attend please arrange for someone else to represent your school instead.

 

School Coordinator's and School Delegate's Roles

  • Ensure all Motu Kairangi communications are relayed between the school, coaches, parents and players.
  • Ensure umpires are available for all your games and that they are capable of overseeing the level of game.  NOTE: Your school will be fined $20 each time you fail to provide a registered umpire for your game.
  • Ensure the school fulfils its duties when rostered on under either Court Control or Duty Team.  Failure of the school to fulfil these duties will incur a fine of $20 for each adult missing.
  • Relay, receive and take appropriate action on any complaints to or from Motu Kairangi Netball.
  • Delegates must attend all compulsory delegate meetings called by the Management Committee.
  • Collate all Umpire registration information for their own schools and return to the Training and Development Officer by cut off date to mknetballtraining@gmail.com.

2017 MK AGM and Delegates Meeting

Please be advised the Motu Kairangi Netball AGM will be held on Wednesday 15 March 2017 at 7:00pm in the Evans Bay Intermediate School Library, followed by a Compulsory Delegates Meeting at 8pm - we look forward to seeing all School Delegates and School Co-ordinators there. If your School Delegate or School Co-ordinator can't attend please ensure your school is represented.

There are a number of committee members 'retiring' this year, so their positions will need to be filled at the AGM as they step down from their role. 

These positions need to be filled to be able to run Saturday netball for our children and every affiliated school should have at least one representative either on the Management Committee, a sub-committee or in a Task Group (e.g. scorecards or sausage sizzle supplies).

Please be assured you will be supported - we know it can be a bit scary putting your hand up for something you don't know much about, the retiring committee members have agreed to be there to support the new person in their role, so anyone interested in a position will be well supported.

Just give it a go - it is really rewarding to have a hand in shaping how we provide netball to our junior and intermediate players and support our parent volunteers, and it will look pretty good on the old CV too!

The committee positions needing to be filled are:

Chairperson

As chair you lead committee and delegate meetings, and chair the AGM.  It is a very rewarding position, working with the committee to shape the development of MK, and support the committee in their different roles.  You liase with the committee to ensure funds are spent properly and in the best interest of the MK Netball Community and represent MK at prizegivings and other events as required.  The current Chair will happily provide all the support, guidance and assistance wanted so the new chiar can step into this role with confidence.

Treasurer

Looks after the inwards and otuwards accounts.  Reports current finances to the committee.  Our current Treasurer has set things in place so a novice can easily take over this role.  We now use Xero for our accounts and have online approval to pay bills electronically, which has made the role of Treasurer much simpler and less time consuming.  Again the current Treasurer will be there to assist the new Treasurer confidently take up this role.

Rep Teams Coordinator

Assists the chair and selection committee selecting coaches/managers/selectors/umpires for Year 7 and 8 rep and development teams.  Coordinates a sub-committee group to facilitate the reps trials, tournament travel and prizegiving.  Supports rep coaches, players and team managers during reps season.  Liaises with and reports to the committee on rep activities; budget; uniform and equipment.  Our current Rep Coordinator will stay on in a supporting role this year to assist and guide the new person through rep season.

Kiwi Whistler Coordinator

Responsible for coordinating the Kiwi Whistler Programme for up to twelve Year 8 netball players training to become umpires.  Course details are published on the website and registration collated from the online registrations.  Liaising with Netball Wellington who provide the 6 week theory sessions and coordinating the 6 week practical training where Kiwi Whistlers and their mentors umpire a real game each Saturday for 6 weeks.

Junior Netball Facilitator

Oversees the Junior netball programme, which contracts a Saturday Court Controller/Administrator and Junior Netball Coordinators to run the Term 1 and 2 programme.  We have recently expanded the role of the Saturday Court Controller to include administration of registrations and enquiries.  This has become much more of an oversight role, with report back to the management committee.  Our current Junior Netball Facilitator will be staying on in the committee and will be there to support the new person in this role.

Website/Social Media Administrator

Maintains the MK website and social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.  Our current administrator will provide all the support and assistance the new administrator might need.  This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in the online media area.

 

Committee Position Available - Website/Social Media Administrator

MK is currently looking for someone to join the committee as the Website/Social Media Administrator.  They will be responsible for maintaining the MK website and social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.  Our current administrator will provide all the support and assistance the new administrator might need.  This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in the online media area.
