Motu Kairangi Netball
Motu Kairangi Netball is a junior satellite of Netball Wellington Centre and provides the opportunity for Year 1 to Year 8 students of Southern, Central and Eastern Zone schools to participate in netball.
Motu Kairangi runs two programmes:
- Junior netball for students in Year 1 to Year 4 which is run during the summer terms 1 and 4;
- Senior netball with two grades - a combined Year 5 & 6 grade and a combined Year 7 & 8 grade. Games are played in winter during terms 2 and 3.
All games are played on a Saturday at the Evans Bay Intermediate School Netball Courts, Tacy Street, Kilbirnie.
Constitution
Motu Kairangi Netball Incorporated is an Incorporated Society and therefore its operations are guided by a constitution that has been registered with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies. If there are any changes to be made to the Constitution, then this will be added to the agenda at the AGM.
Objectives
The objectives of Motu Kairangi are to:
- Foster and promote learning, enjoyment, fair play and positive sporting attitudes through playing netball in a seasonal competition for school children, from Year 1 to 8, in the Central, Southern and Eastern suburbs of Wellington
- Foster and encourage umpiring, coaching and administration of netball
- Recognise the achievement of all participants
- Encourage coaches and parents to follow our Code of Conduct as outlined in the Motu Kairangi Netball Handbook and Rules
- To ensure that funds raised by the club are used to benefit the participants.
